The Liebster Award

Hello, dear readers! You may have heard of or seen this going around lately. I was nominated for The Liebster Award by two lovely followers: Nadja (throwmesomethingbeautiful) and Rosa (glossytemptations). Thanks girls! I think The Liebster Award is a wonderful way to get to know other fellow "baby" bloggers (ie. bloggers with less than 200 followers) and great opportunity to help grow each others' blogs. This is going to be a pretty long post as it is, so I'm just going to get straight into it.

 The rules are:

11 things about myself:

1. I am currently a second year Kinesiology student at university, and I love what I study. :)
2. I spent my childhood growing up in lovely warm-weathered Manila, Philippines.
3. Saying "I love TV" is a bit of an understatement. Many of my shows have ended in the past couple of years, but at one point I was following 15 TV series!
4. Dystopian novels are one of my weaknesses, and I get sucked into them extremely easily. Currently dying to read Insurgent, but school is getting in the way. :(
5. There are very few foods I would outright refuse to eat. I love food and trying new foods! Some of my favourites are sushi, fruits, ice cream, bubble tea, macaroni and cheese, breakfast foods, peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, unagi, ...
6. That being said, I have a low tolerance for spicy dishes.
7. My childhood obsession was Hilary Duff. At the peak of this obsession, I somehow coaxed her email address out of Jake Thomas (who played her brother Matt on Lizzie McGuire) via Friendster (when Friendster was still alive) and sent her a 'trying to play it cool' fan message. She emailed me back! ...I will never know if it was really Hilary Duff herself, but I'd like to think it was.
8. This is slightly embarrassing but it wasn't until very recently (perhaps in the last 3 years?) that I started to develop good taste in fashion.
9. Number one on my travel bucket list right now is Santorini, Greece. Someone take me there!
10. I can speak 4 languages, the last two very minimally: English, Tagalog, Mandarin, and Italian.
11. Dance is the one hobby/activity in my life that I have always loved and enjoyed, and have never wanted to quit. I started with ballet, but have done modern, lyrical, and jazz as well.

Nadja's Questions:

1. Name one beauty product you could not live without! Mascara because it just instantly opens up your eyes and makes you look awake. I'm currently using Revlon's Grow Luscious and am loving it!
2. What part of your body are you most insecure about? Why? I don't want to sound arrogant, but I am perfectly content with my body and have no qualms about it whatsoever. I mean, yes, I work out and part of the reason I do is to keep in shape, but that is mostly for health reasons above all else. I never think, "Oh I wish this part of me was different." God has blessed me immensely with what I have. I am fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14).
3. Name 3 of your happy qualities. I smile a fair bit, I'm a real goof around people that I'm comfortable with, and I like giving people presents.
4. Which do you love the most ~ Snow? Rain & Rainbows? Or Sunshine? Never snow. Rain & rainbows if I get to sit and watch it from indoors with my mug of hot chocolate. Sunshine every other time.
5. If you could be anywhere in the world right now ~ Where would you be? Santorini. Or visiting family and friends in the Philippines!
6. What is your dream job? A cardiologist - aka a heart doctor.
7. What style of shoe is your favourite - Pumps? Sandals? Dolly Shoes? Boots? etc. It depends on what time of year it is. I love a gorgeous pair of pumps for special occasions, boots for the fall and winter, and strappy sandals or my Havaianas slims for the summer.
8. Recommend a good TV series to watch! Criminal Minds, Hart of Dixie, Grey's Anatomy, Modern Family, Suits. Some of my current favourites.
9. What is your favourite make up brand? Why? This is too difficult of a question! Besides MAC, I really love Buxom as a brand. Amazing premium quality products! None that I have tried have let me down so far.
10. What one product do you have in your shower? Macadamia Deep Repair Masque. This is the best stuff for your hair!

Rosa's Questions:

1. What make up item makes you feel most confident? Foundation because it just evens out my skin tone really nicely, and I think it's easy to feel confident when your skin looks good. :)
2. Tattoos - yay or nay? Personally, nay. 
3. What's the quality you pride yourself most on? Resilience - always keeping the hope alive for the future.
4. What's the most expensive item in your makeup bag? Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation.
5. Cats or dogs? Husky puppies and grey and white Tabby kittens.
6. How do you pass the time when you're bored? Blog, watch TV, read, knit! I have a lot of hobbies so I'm not bored very often.
7. Optimist or pessimist? Naturally a pessimist, but I am trying to be more optimistic!
8. How long do you spend getting ready on an average day? Average school day, 20 minutes. Average non-school day, 30 minutes to an hour depending on what I am doing (ie. hair, makeup, either, or both)
9. Going out or staying in? I'm 100% a homebody. Which is strange because I love traveling and going on adventures, too. I guess you could say both. :)
10. Does your style change often? It has evolved quite a bit over the last few years, but I think it is just about stabilizing now. I'm not one to just go with the trends just because they are trendy, but every so often there will be trends that I get absolutely hooked on!
11. What would you buy right now if you had all the money you wanted? A vacation!!! I really miss being on a plane and exploring places I've never been to.
